Position Purpose:
The TIBCO Integration Developer is expected to have solid knowledge and hands-on experience with EAI technologies and TIBCO products, with specific expertise in software design, installation, configuration and administration of TIBCO BusinessWorks 5.x, TIBCO EMS 4.x, TIBCO HAWK, TIBCO Administrator and related integration adapters.

The incumbent is expected to collaborate with project teams consisting of application developers, business analysts and users to effectively plan, design and implement TIBCO Middleware applications to facilitate effective integration of enterprise applications. Duties include building, enhancing and supporting TIBCO Middleware processes, solutions and products in order to meet the organization’s on-going and future application integration needs.


1) Participate in new development requests, enhancements, and project initiatives aimed at integrating enterprise applications (SAP, PeopleSoft. Legacy, Java/WebSphere) in order to facilitate business processes across the broader business community. Work closely with project teams to ensure that integration points are delivered in accordance with the enterprise strategic direction. The TIBCO Integration Developer will be expected to:

Participate in all phases of the SDLC as they relate to TIBCO integration and development.
Learn the business processes for which application integration is needed.
Understand the technical aspects of the application touch-points for which TIBCO is used to integrate.
Analyze, design, build and test Integration solutions based on business requirements.
Perform testing and tuning activities, including strategies around how to leverage core technologies supported by TIBCO (e.g. WebServices, SOAP, and JMS.)
Monitor daily production processes and partner with TIBCO administrators to resolve problems.
Address issues as they arise and drive resolution.
Provide input, recommendations, and resolutions for broad technical issues related to application integration.
Review technical work of other team members for quality assurance.
Develop and implement technical and process improvements.
Participate in the upgrade of software, including the customization of functionality and the performance of technical tests to ensure minimal impact on the business.
2) Support existing TIBCO Middleware implementations including maintenance and production support. Maintain knowledge of established service level agreements and deliver support in a manner that meets expectations. Participate in the implementation of processes that are designed to reduce the number of support incidents and improve customer satisfaction. Support business and data analysts as needed.

3) Investigate and stay abreast of new EAI technologies and innovations. Support and maintain software environments and tools used for application integration. Consistently employ and adhere to adopted processes, including Agile Methodology for custom-developed applications, so that the software delivered will meet the time, cost and quality targets defined by the business. Adopt and institute best practices as directed.

Scope of Work:

The TIBCO Integration Developer will play an active role in defining and building the future integration of enterprise applications. Responsibilities will span a broad spectrum of activities including but not limited to defining processes/procedures/standards and taking ownership of TIBCO integration development activities within specific threads in projects.

Building broad knowledge of applications (including business process understanding) and keeping abreast of new technology as it pertains to TIBCO are essential to the success of the TIBCO Integration Developer. The incumbent must have the ability to complete tasks and deliverables on time in a high quality manner with little or no guidance. Such role is a cornerstone of the application integration landscape.


Education and Experience (including certifications):

· Bachelor’s degree required; Masters degree a plus.
· TIBCO BusinessWorks 5.x / EMS 4.x / HAWK / TIBCO Administrator certification desired.
· 3-5 years of overall technical and systems integration experience, including 3+ years of hands-on experience with TIBCO BusinessWorks, messaging and SOA/ESB design and implementation, preferably on AIX platform.
· Proficient with TIBCO Designer graphical mapping and advanced functions.
· Solid working experience with standards-based integration & programming techniques, including Java, J2EE, XPATH, XML, XSD, XSLT, SOAP/WebServices (SOAP over JMS & SOAP over HTTP) and WSDL.
· SAP, Oracle, WebSphere/J2EE, PeopleSoft and Legacy system (Mainframe & AS400) integration experience required.
· Experience configuring TIBCO sender & receiver adapters for abovementioned systems and platforms, including SAP (IDOC, RFC), CICS, PeopleSoft, File and ActiveDatabases / JDBC adapters.
· Solid understanding of synchronous & asynchronous communication modes, and Integration patterns like Request/Reply & Publish/Subscribe.
· Ability to debug interface transmission and messaging failures. Able to configure HAWK alerts for error monitoring and notification.
· Experience with EAI methodology, development, and best practices.
· Experience with SOA methodology, development, and best practices.
· Basic SQL/PLSQL and RDBMS knowledge; Oracle 9i/10g experience preferred.
· Experience in SAP R/3 a plus:
o Exposure to BAPIs, RFCs, IDOCs, ALE, and Business Connectors.
Working knowledge of the Object Navigator (ABAP Editor, ABAP Dictionary, Function Builder, Class Builder, Context Builder, and Utilities) and BAPI Explorer.
· Exposure to Agile Software Development Methodology a plus.
· Must demonstrate strong customer focus, communication skills, strong sense of urgency, and a win-win approach to meeting business requirements and resolving problems.
