QA Engineer

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Take ownership of automated test design and development and manage a comprehensive script library
Work closely with the product team to understand functional requirements to create comprehensive test cases
Perform and manage all types of tests: smoke, functional, system, load, integration, and regression
Collect and create support data for all types of tests
Log, track, and verify defects using our bug tracking system
Review business requirements and design to ensure thoroughness, testability and consistency of proposed functionality
Work with development and engineering to test emergency fixes
Write requests for proposals and manage external quality assurance consultants (as needed)
Familiar with testing methodology and the software development lifecycle
Assist in implementation of QA standards and continuous improvement activities

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Min of 5 + years software testing experience
Strong knowledge of QA best practices and methodology
Strong knowledge of ASP.NET, VB.NET, AJAX, C#, SQL, XML
Ability to write and understand reason for code
Solid understanding of testing web-based software on multiple browsers
Excellent ability to define test plans, test cases and test situations
Experience with one or more automated testing tools running pass/fail
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Experience in a high-traffic web development environment
Detail-oriented, resourceful, and a problem solver
Work well independently as well as on a team
Multi-task, prioritize tasks, and manage time well

EDUCATION
Bachelor's degree in computer science, related technical field, or work equivalent.

EXPERIENCE
Two to five years related experience

SKILLS & ABILITIES

Computer/Technical Skills
Knowledge of MS Suite of Applications and Systems Administration
Experience with SQL
Development experience or familiarity with one or more programming languages
