Unix Trader Support - Richmond, VA, Direct, 5756

Unix Production Support
Must have:

Unix troubleshooting experience
SQL Scripting experience
Excellent wholesome personality
Perl / Python Scripting
Responsibilities
· Provides Level 3 support to Production Support Teams and other System Engineers.
· Management, administration, support, configuration, and testing of J2EE (specifically EJB) systems.
· Administration, support, and configuration of custom PERL and PYTHON utilities.
· Meets deadlines as agreed to within the System Engineering roadmap.
· Follow defined Standard Processes and Procedures within the deployment and support space.
· Provide regular status reports and updates as required.
· Available to provide on-call support nights and weekends.
Technical Skills/Experience
· Understanding and experience with the administration of J2SE and J2EE enterprise applications.
· Understanding and hands on experience with Java Application Servers.
· Understanding and hands on experience with PERL and PYTHON.
· Minimum of 5+ year’s total experience working in distributed enterprise type applications.
· Experience and understanding of the demands of hosted applications especially scalability, clustering, high availability, failover, and disaster recovery
· Must be familiar and at ease with both the Unix and the Windows environments.
· Must have a proven track record of working well in a team environment.
· Must demonstrate problem solving skills and strong critical thinking.
Pluses
· Understand Interest rates risk management and trading strategies.
· Experience in a large financial institution.
· Experience with Enterprise System Monitoring
· Experience with BEA Weblogic
· Experience with Borland Enterprise Server
