Microsoft Systems Administrator – Exchange Messaging Systems Engineer

Exchange Messaging Systems Engineer with extensive experience in Exchange messaging architecture. Candidate is responsible for providing architectural design, implementation, performance tuning, and on going support of client and mobile messaging solutions. Individual will participate in planning, monitoring, and evaluating the performance of messaging server systems and make recommendations for improvements/upgrades. Developing, designing, testing, and implementing plans and procedures to protect windows messaging servers including disaster recovery and fault tolerance. Insuring security measure related to Windows Exchange servers, including related messaging servers, virus protection, SPAM protection and protection from malicious attacks.

Position requires collaboration with global team members comprised of multiple time zones, countries and cultures.

Responsible for supporting, managing and implementing all back office messaging related systems for the Microsoft Exchange platforms. The Microsoft Exchange Messaging Systems Engineer will perform the following:

· A minimum of 2 years experience supporting Exchange 2000/2003 and Active Directory 2003 in a global environment.
· Sound knowledge of SMTP, DNS and routing protocols
· Sound knowledge of Windows XP and Windows 2003 Server family installation and configuration.
· Sound knowledge of administration and maintenance of Exchange 2003 Enterprise and Standard versions
· Experience with Microsoft Cluster Server 2003
· Familiar with the Windows 2003 Registry and comfortable with making modifications.
· Re-architect current Group Policies related to messaging clients
· Point person for Exchange and SMTP issues, related systems management, projects, etc
· Research, recommend and implement changes to the production, and related development and QA environments for corporate messaging platform
· Perform pro-active capacity planning, including short term and long-term trend analysis
· Perform cluster server and application management, including Service Pack and patch rollouts
· Tune messaging systems for optimal performance
· Recommend policies, procedures and purchases related to messaging systems administration, security, etc.
· Maintaining the inventory system and change management system pertaining to messaging hardware and equipment
· Follow and create all disaster recovery procedures based on agreed upon SLA’s and Business Continuity Requirements
· Support systems troubleshooting and problem resolution
Blackberry 4.X experience. Ability to manage and troubleshoot blackberry issues.
ISA 2004 – Troubleshoot mobile technology stack through ISA 2004
EVA Experience a plus.

Essential Functions:
· Ensure stable implementation and support of enterprise messaging servers
· Support and maintain change and configuration management for all messaging systems
· Support the backup and recovery strategy of the enterprise for Microsoft Messaging products
· Provide daily administration of messaging systems
· Provide daily administration of messaging hygiene tools, configurations and updates
· Monitor and proactively support capacity planning and analysis
· Understanding of all IT best practices for administering Exchange servers
· Independently identify and address documentation needs and updates
