Java Spring FX (Foreign Exchange)-Chicago, Direct, 5349

The role involves developing and maintaining trading technology applications using a diverse set of technologies, varying from spreadsheets and C++ for quantitative and short-term deliverables to major Java/EJB application developments in a real-time, high-volume trading application environment. GFX solutions are developed using agile development methodologies including Extreme Programming techniques.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
The successful candidate must possess the following:
§ Very strong communication skills and a can-do attitude.
§ 3+ years in a development role and a strong working knowledge of Java
§ Experience with Multi-Threaded applications in Java
§ Proven skills in system architecture and design.
§ Experience with or keen willingness to learn multiple development methodologies (Agile/XP, SCRUM, RUP)
§ The ability to be flexible in the technologies used
§ The ability to work across multiple systems using multiple programming languages and technologies
§ A strong knowledge of test-driven development and OO development using Java
§ Experience with enterprise databases such as Oracle, SQL Server or Sybase is essential.
§ Hands on experience in messaging technologies, asynchronous and event driven programming.
§ Experience with enterprise application containers such as Weblogic, WebSphere, or JBoss
§ Personal Attributes
o Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
o Ability to absorb large amounts of information quickly
o Self Starter
o Team Player

Desirable:
§ Experience with low latency, high-performance programming with specific experience in electronic trading technology
§ Working knowledge of the international FX markets and products.
§ Experience using inversion of control and aspect oriented programming
§ Experience with Spring and Hibernate
§ A degree in a numerical subject (Computer Science, Engineering, Math, Physics)
